Troubleshooting

Fix common beta setup and accuracy problems.

Start with camera permission, lighting, calibration, and safety state checks before enabling gesture control.

Common checks

Camera does not open

  • Close other apps that may be using the webcam.
  • Check Windows camera privacy permission.
  • Restart IQPalm after changing camera permissions.
  • Try a different USB port if using an external webcam.

Gestures feel inaccurate

  • Use even lighting and keep the hand fully visible.
  • Run calibration again from the same camera position.
  • Capture each calibration gesture three times while holding steady.
  • Reset calibration if the wrong gesture keeps being detected.

Unexpected click or scroll

  • Use fist to pause immediately.
  • Use palm hold for emergency stop.
  • Keep gesture control disabled until the desktop area is safe.
  • Report repeat false gestures without attaching private video.
